San Diego Veterans for Peace took part in the 32nd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade on January 15, 2012. Joined in solidarity by local Occupy groups, we were able to spread MLK’s message of peace to a large group of people. We had four large banners that read ‘Veterans for Peace‘, ‘Jobs Not War‘, ‘End The Wars‘, and ‘Free Patriot Bradley Manning‘ plus dozens of smaller flags and peace-promoting displays. Our large group was very well received and we ended up winning third place in the parade’s Education category.
San Diego Veterans for Peace would like to thank everyone that took the time to join us in promoting our message of peace and we look forward to taking part in many similar events.
